Coverage
What we write.
Four lines, all commercial. Each one below says what it covers, who needs it in California, and what we will ask for to quote it.
Liability & property
General liability & property
The policy almost every California business carries first. It covers injuries and property damage your operations cause to others, plus the building, equipment, and inventory you own or lease. For most small and mid-size operations it is packaged as a business owner’s policy.
Who needs it in California
Any business with a lease, customers on the premises, or a contract that asks for a certificate of insurance. Most California landlords and general contractors require it before you can move in or start work.

- Third-party bodily injury and property damage
- Products and completed operations
- Owned or leased buildings, equipment, and stock
- Loss of income after a covered shutdown
What we need to quote it
- Business address and square footage
- Annual revenue
- Building or contents values
- Claims in the last five years, if any
Employees
Workers’ compensation
California requires workers’ compensation for any employer with one or more employees, part-time included, under Labor Code section 3700. It pays medical care and lost wages for work injuries, and it is the policy the state checks first.
Who needs it in California
Every California employer, from the first hire. Roofing, framing, and other high-rate classes benefit most from being shopped across carriers instead of defaulting to the State Fund.

- Loss runs for the last three to five years, if you have had coverage
Vehicles
Commercial auto & fleet
Covers vehicles titled to the business or driven for it: pickups, vans, box trucks, and whole fleets. Includes hired and non-owned auto for employees who drive their own cars on company business.
Who needs it in California
Any business that owns a vehicle or sends an employee out in one. Personal auto policies exclude most business use, and California raised its minimum liability limits on January 1, 2025. Most contracts ask for far more than the minimum.
